Earl B. Barron, MD, FACC
Internal Medicine & Cardiology
Dr. Earl Barron is one of the founding members of Pinnacle Healthcare System. He has been a healthcare provider for over thirty years. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. After completing an internship and residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital in Cleveland, he completed his fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Barron is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, and he practices all aspects of internal medicine and non-invasive cardiology. Dr. Barron has special interests in lipid management and preventive cardiology and partnering with patients to optimize their health.
Howard Barron, MD
Internal Medicine & Cardiology
Dr. Howard Barron is one of the founding members of Pinnacle Healthcare System, and he has been practicing medicine in the South Broward area for over thirty years. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami Medical School in Miami, Florida. After completing an internship and residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, he worked on his fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Florida.
Dr. Barron is board certified in internal medicine. He practices all aspects of non-invasive cardiology, with a special interest in preventive cholesterol management and preventative cardiology.
Mitchell B. Cohen, MD, FACC
Cardiology & Electrophysiology
A founding member and former CEO of Pinnacle Healthcare System, Dr. Mitchell Cohen received his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Later, Dr. Cohen completed his internship, residency, and cardiology fellowship at Northshore University Hospital and Sloan Kettering Center in New York. Dr. Cohen then went on to complete his electrophysiology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
Dr. Cohen is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and electrophysiology. Dr. Cohen has a special interest in electrophysiology, which is the study of the electrical activity and characteristics of the heart.
David E. Steiner, MD, FACC
Internal Medicine & Cardiology
Dr. David Steiner is a founding member and the present CEO of Pinnacle Healthcare System. Dr. Steiner received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and completed his internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Dr. Steiner then went on to complete his cardiology fellowship at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
Dr. Steiner is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He practices all aspects of non-invasive cardiology, with a special interest in nuclear cardiology and echocardiology.

Laurel King, MD, FABOG
Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology
Dr. Laurel King obtained her medical degree from Georgia Regents University and completed her residency and internship in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Dr. King is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology. Dr. King has a special interest in women' s health and robotic surgery.
Nisharahmed Kherada, MD
Cardiology & Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Nisharahmed Kherada joins Pinnacle Healthcare System in July 2018. He received his medical degree from the B.J. Medical College/Gujuarat University in India and later conducted research at The Ohio State University and the University of California, Irvine. He then moved to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to complete a residency in internal medicine. He proceeded to complete his fellowship in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he also served as chief cardiology fellow.
Dr. Kherada is board certified in internal medicine and general cardiology, and he is board eligible in interventional and nuclear cardiology. He specializes in radial artery access for cardiac catheterization, which is associated with a lower risk of bleeding and vascular complications.
Samer Siouffi, MD, FACC
Cardiology & Electrophysiology
Dr. Samer Siouffi graduated from the American University Of Beirut, Faculty Of Medicine and completed a residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jacksonville. He completed an electrophysiology fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Dr. Siouffi is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and electrophysiology, and he has a special interest in treating atrial fibrillation and heart arrhythmia.
James Vangelder, MD
Nephrology
Dr. James Vangelder earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Albany Medical Center and his residency at Cincinnati General Hospital before moving to Texas and completing his nephrology fellowship at U.T. Southwestern Medical School.
Dr. Vangelder is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology, with an intrest in preventing kidney failure, hypertension, and diabetes.
